Every year, more cars and drivers travel the roads. With so many vehicles on the road, crashes will happen. The difference between a little aggravation and major pain can be your insurance. So how do you know what type of car insurance you need and how much to purchase? Insurance requirements vary by state/province, but typically include the following: Liability: This type of insurance will pay for the damage that you are responsible for. These damages can include personal injury, and property damage. Damages from bodily injury can include medical fees, and lost wages. Property damage includes damaged property or loss of property use. If you are sued, it also pays your defense and court costs. Local laws typically require standard amounts, but higher amounts are available and usually recommended. Personal Injury Protection: This is required in some states and is optional in others. It pays you or your passengers for medical treatment resulting from a crash, regardless of who may have been at fault, and is often called no-fault coverage. This insurance can also pay for lost earnings, replacement of services and funeral costs. The minimum amount of this insurance is typically set by the state. Medical Payments: This type of coverage is available in non-no-fault states and will pay regardless of who is responsible for an accident. All necessary medical or funeral expenses will be paid for under this insurance coverage. Collision: Pays for damage to your vehicle caused by an accident. Comprehensive: This type of insurance covers all non-collision damages. This could include hail damage, vandalism, and robbery. Uninsured Motorist: Pays for repair and replacement costs when an insured person is in an accident caused by another person who does not have insurance. Under-Insured Motorist: Many drivers have liability insurance that might not be able to pay for all the expenses they are responsible for. Under-insured motorist coverage protects you in accidents involving those drivers. Emergency road service, car rental, and other varieties of coverage can also be purchased. Your car insurance payments vary by company and will depend on multiple factors, such as: * Which policies you choose * The make and model of the vehicle you own * Your driving record * Your age, gender and marital status * The place where you live Some have come to think of car insurance as a necessary evil, but it can truly rescue you from a financial disaster. Evaluate your needs, do your research , and with the support of your insurance agent, choose the option that best suits you. Car Insurance Groveland
